The tranquility. The landscape with beautiful sunrise! No people around. One of the staff was particularly fun, he use goes by the name "Be". They were flexible with the included breakfast, I had diving trip in the morning needed to leave the place around 6am so the "chef" would prepare breakfast before that time.
Lack of transportation to the main pier and island town center where all the day trips are run from. It takes about 30-40 minutes to walk (hike) through the jungle to the main town if you are in average fitness condition. Food did not feel fresh or really tasty. The only thing that we like was the hotcakes. The location was an inconvenience, we tried to change location after the 1st night out of 3 nights, but the hotel would not refund the last night that we have already paid. We were able to talk to the owner but he would just said "no refund, talk to Booked.net Customer Service" where clearly in the cancellation policy said 100% of the first night refund if booking is cancelled. At the end we left to another hotel loosing the money for the last night.
There is nothng you can like here.
This hotel is a joke: prices very high, standard very poor, ugly beach, ugly bungalows, high prices in the restaurant. You have to add 1200 thb for transportation from the pier. It all should cost 60 thb, not 2400.
*** warning! *** This was the most horrible experience we've ever had while on vacation! The list of bad bad bad is too long to write here. Their advertisement is misleading. You should avoid Power Beach, and if for some reason you must go there, DO NOT TAKE CHILDREN TO POWER BEACH! There is a high risk of getting hurt and you will get ripped off! Nevertheless, you will be stranded upon arrival and at their mercy. I have stayed in some bad hotels in the past, but Power Beach does not even qualify as a refugee camp in Africa, it is worse!
no shuttle services at arrival and additional cost of 1000 BHT per trip form/to the town required we called the hotel but the hotel staff terminated all incoming calls and also booking staff could not reach the hotel over the day hotel rejected all refund request for the unused stay
No beach like in the pictures, the budget bungalows are in the jungle at 200 m from the beach and after 200 stairs with 60º tilt. You must be in serious fitness condition to go up and down 2 times daily.
Do Not Book this so-called hotel unless you want to be horrified!!! It is Phi Phi Horror!
The resort and staff were so bad I called a water taxi and found alternative accommodation.
Without exaggerating there was absolutely nothing to like. The resort and staff were so bad other guests asked to share our water taxi to leave the resort
Complete rip off. This is a horrible bungalow with no facilities- terrible "resort". Shocking owner who does not care. Every person at this place tried. To get money back. Toilets did not work, rooms did not lock . My daughter offered marijuana by a staff member. Cigarette butts everywhere. Lacked basic facilities yet charged a fortune. No pickup- you had to pay extra to get there in a boat. Staff in tears due to so many complaints.this place gives Thailand a bad name. I have lived in Thailand and love the place.please do not stay here. There is total disregard for the customers. Such a shame to taint a wonderful country with a greedy owner. I repeat- this place is a complete and utter to off.
The beach is very nice, but that is about the only thing!
Unfortunately the Phi Phi Power Beach Resort did not fulfill our expectations at all. The staff was very unorganized and confused. When orderning food, you can be sure that you will be served anything, except of what you ordered. Inbetween the bungalows there is a lot if trash laying everywhere. We took the boat to tonsai in the evening and the hotel manager did not tell us, that there won't be any boats back. We had to stay in tonsai over night and had to pay fullprice for our bungalow for this night. Another very annoying issue is, that there was music playing 24h and thr WiFi hardly ever worked.
It was peaceful.
There was no beach, had to go next hotel along and use their beach. The power would cut out at least twice a day and the water would run out, it was a 25 minute boat to phi phi, the huts were up a very steep hill, which was very badly cemented and no handrails. Wifi only available in the bar.
